This coastal Cottesloe home was designed with a priority of relaxing and modern living, in mind.
Working alongside builder Saltus Built during construction, HiFi Hunter provided a complete smart home integration solution. By being involved early, we ensured the technology was thoughtfully planned, pre-wired and installed to work seamlessly with the architecture and the way the owners live.
Early Planning for a Smarter Result
Our work began during the construction phase. This is the stage where correct wiring pathways, equipment placement and system planning are most effective. By designing the technology infrastructure before walls were lined, we were able to achieve clean finishes, reliable system performance, and flexibility for future upgrades.
This stage included:
- Design meetings with the builder and owners
- Onsite inspections and wiring coordination
- Structured cabling for distributed audio
- Wiring allowance for automation, networking, and security
- Cable routes for future technology expansion
- Six in-ceiling speakers were pre-wired along with all associated interconnects and mounting provisions, ensuring the audio system would integrate cleanly without visible clutter
A Whole Home System, Working Through One Interface
The final system brings together several key technologies into a single, easy-to-use home interface.
- Multi-Room Audio
- Ceiling speakers provide natural, high-quality sound throughout living spaces and entertaining areas, allowing music to complement daily life.
- Home Automation and Networking
- A centralised control platform unifies audio, security, blinds, lighting, and climate settings. Everything works together in a simple, consistent way.
- Airtouch4 Climate Control
- The home’s air conditioning responds intelligently to schedules, occupancy, and temperature preferences to support comfort and energy efficiency.
- Control4 On-Wall Touchscreen
- A 10-inch wall-mounted touchscreen provides whole-home control at a glance. Lighting scenes, music, blinds, and climate can all be adjusted from one place.
- Smart Lighting and Scenes
- Lighting is programmed to create atmosphere, provide soft evening pathways and automatically welcome the owner’s home.
- CCTV Security System
- Discreet exterior cameras are fully integrated into the smart home interface for peace of mind and secure remote access.
- Motorised Fans and Blinds
- Beacon motorised fans and Rollease motorised blinds are operated from the same touchscreen and smartphone app, allowing smooth control without multiple remotes.
- Additional Feature Controls
- Accent lighting, external power circuits and feature elements such as fireplace lighting are all included in the system design.
Installation, Setup & Handover
At the final fit-out stage, our team returned to install and commission the complete system. This included:
- Audiovisual installation
- Network installation and fine-tuning
- Automation device setup and programming
- CCTV configuration and secure remote access
- Custom scene creation based on lifestyle preferences
- Client handover and instruction for confident everyday use
The result is a quiet, reliable system that works naturally in the background, controlled simply and intuitively
A Home That Feels Effortless
To ensure consistent performance for streaming, work and smart home control, WiFi 6 access points were installed throughout the home, including extended coverage for the pool and outdoor areas.
The technology in this home was thoughtfully configured so it did not compete with the architecture but instead, supports it. Every system is integrated, easy to use and visually uncluttered. The owners can enjoy the benefits of automation, audio and connected living without complexity.
